This "painting" is drawn by PrismaColors colored pencils, and is of a male dancer in a warehouse practice studio, and he can so imagine performing before an audience that he can almost see them on the hill outside the window. Only the mirror at the end of the studio proves it is a dream ... about to come true! I want to thank free source Unsplash photographers Jeremy Bishop and Richard Stott for providing access to the two photos I used as "models" for this piece. I so appreciate their generosity! Searching for the name for this piece, I kept realizing I was also speaking to myself... on several fronts! Entered in Homage to Great Artists of the Past Contest as it reminds me of the type of work Norman Rockwell Excelled at, always clearly telling a story without saying a word!.
I LOVE BEAUTIFUL THINGS... AND CREATIVITY OF ANY KIND I have always so admired creative, imaginative people. But, I have also always been afraid to try to join them. I have never had an art lesson, but have been very fortunate to be on sites where amazing artists share some of the things they've learned and even make suggestions or praises to novices like I was. In 2008, I picked up a pencil, and drew a photo that impressed me. For someone who had no lessons, no experience, it wasn't bad, and I got the rush that comes from creating, from trying! My family and friends encouraged me to keep at it, to try new mediums, and with time and practice, I started to produce pieces that I was proud of... and actually wanted to share. So here I am,...
