I hadn't tried a watercolor in years, and so enjoyed the controlled but looser hand allowed in this medium, the bright colors that still can be achieved, even though it is watercolor with a very few colored pencil finishing accents. AND, it is SO much faster than the same picture painted with colored pencil! :) Probably saved at least an hour in pencil sharpening! :) I still was more controlling than most watercolor artists with a beautiful tiny paint brush that allowed me some of the control I seem to require by personality. I hope you enjoy the results as much as I did and consider a print or beach towel, tote bag, coffee cup, etc., to brighten your day! I LOVE BEAUTIFUL THINGS... AND CREATIVITY OF ANY KIND I have always so admired creative, imaginative people. But, I have also always been afraid to try to join them. I have never had an art lesson, but have been very fortunate to be on sites where amazing artists share some of the things they've learned and even make suggestions or praises to novices like I was. Thanks so much Gary! Color compliments from you mean a lot, as you have such a great eye for the use of "brilliant color!" I'm usually afraid to go "too" bright, but it was easier to do comfortably with the watercolor than it is with pencil.
