Painting - Colored Pencil On Watercolor Paper
Description
I saw this lovely shop window and loved the colorful, organized chaos of stained glass, whimsical nutcrackers and the other fascinating things one finds at an antique store! I rearranged some of the pieces, and added a few I needed (like Nipper and the antique bicycle out front) and worked on this for 6 weeks! I especially love the "chef" nutcracker holding a turkey, and of course, the Davy Crockett nutcracker, and ALL the amazing stained glass! Original was drawn with Prismacolor pencils, white/black gelly roll pen on some highlights and details, prismacolor colorless blender pens, on 16x20 Arches bright white 140 lb cold press watercolor paper. Featured in Your Story of Art Group.

Thank you Sarah! It challenged me but it was fun picking which of the things in the actual window I would try to include, but it was fun, funny, and satisfying too!

Kathy Crockett replied:
Thanks Gary! This was 16"x20" and I had so much fun choosing and placing all that stuff in the window from the choices available from my photo of this beautiful shop! It took me longer than any other piece I've ever done, but it was a blast... and a constant reminder of a great weekend! As always, I appreciate your support!!
