WAIT FOR ME by Kathy S. Crockett, from my original 16"x20" soft pastel "painting".
(An homage to Clerence Clemons)
To date, this is the only "painting" that I offered the original for sale, and quickly got a response from a young man in 2013. I still have the note he sent me. "This painting will bw admired far beyond your expectations. I am a 19 year old musician working to raise money to follow dreams of my own and I've been listening to Bruce Springsteen since before I could walk. My father is an absolute bruce freak and has been since he was young. My father and I are as close as a son can be to a father, and the glue of our relationship is music. Bruce is the one person we can always listen to together no matter the circumstances, I bought this to give to him this Father's Day. What you made is so immensely special that words can't justify its full beauty through my eyes. Thank you so much!!" I was so touched by this note, that I remember it each time I wish I could see the original again, and know it is EXACTLY where it should be!
Painting inspired by Bruce Springsteen's beautiful song... If I Should Fall Behind, Wait for Me... which I love, especially live. Check it out on YouTube, especially recordings of Madison Square Garden or Milan concerts, when Clarence Clemons was still alive. That's part of what wrenches my heart about this song... the feeling of foreshadowing, and how much they meant every word. I hope you like my representation of the song.
